UK police probe suspected arson at Jewish charity ambulance service

Four ambulances owned by Hatzola Northwest were damaged in a fire in Golders Green, London, early on Monday morning. The Metropolitan Police Service received reports of a fire and responded to the scene, where they found four ambulances belonging to the volunteer organization had been set ablaze.

According to the London Fire Brigade, multiple gas cylinders on the vehicles exploded, causing windows to break in an adjacent apartment block. Nearby homes were evacuated as a precautionary measure. No one was injured in the attack.

The incident is being investigated by police, who are looking for three suspects but have not made any arrests yet. United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer has expressed his thoughts on the matter, stating that he is with the Jewish community affected by this incident.

Police Superintendent Sarah Jackson said that officers remain on scene to carry out urgent enquiries and acknowledged that the incident will cause concern within the community. Peter Zinkin, a local council representative, described the situation as “shock and horror” and expressed sadness at the event.

The fire was brought under control by 03:06 GMT. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
