Five people killed in shooting at German youth welfare centre

Arrest Made in Connection with Shooting at Youth Welfare Centre in Stade, Germany

Police have confirmed that two suspects have been detained following a shooting incident at a youth welfare centre in the northern German city of Stade on Monday. According to authorities, five individuals were fatally injured and multiple others sustained injuries.

The police stated that “homicides involving multiple victims occurred at a youth welfare facility” and that a major operation was underway on Dankersstrasse, a street located south of the city centre. As a result, residents were advised to avoid the area and follow the instructions of emergency services.

The incident is believed to have taken place at the youth welfare centre, but the motive behind the shooting remains unclear. The two suspects detained by police are currently being held for further investigation.

Stade, which has a population of approximately 500,000 people, is located approximately 40km south of Hamburg. The city’s emergency services were reportedly involved in responding to the incident.
