Federal Agents Lacked Body Cameras During ICE Shooting in Houston, DHS Says
US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials confirmed that federal agents involved in a shooting incident in Houston did not have body cameras at the time of the event. The incident occurred on Tuesday in the city’s East End.
According to sources, the deceased individual, identified as Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, was not the target of an immigration operation being conducted by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents. The cause of his death has been ruled a homicide by the Harris County Medical Examiner.
New footage obtained by local news outlets shows the moment before the shooting occurred. The video is part of an ongoing investigation into the incident.
