Saudi-led Coalition Launches Airstrikes on South Yemen Separatists
A video has emerged showing explosions at an arms storage facility in southern Yemen, where the Saudi-led coalition has been conducting airstrikes against forces loyal to separatist leader Aidarus al-Zubaidi. The strikes come after al-Zubaidi failed to attend peace talks in Riyadh.
According to reports, the coalition has been targeting al-Zubaidi’s forces since he declined to participate in the negotiations. The airstrikes have resulted in significant damage to an arms storage facility in the region.
The Saudi-led coalition, which is comprised of countries including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain, has been involved in a conflict with Houthi rebels in Yemen since 2015. Al-Zubaidi’s forces are considered to be part of the Houthi rebel movement.
The peace talks in Riyadh were intended to address the ongoing conflict in Yemen, but they ultimately failed due to al-Zubaidi’s refusal to attend. The coalition has stated that it will continue to take action against any forces that pose a threat to regional stability.
The airstrikes have raised concerns about the potential for further escalation in the conflict. The situation remains fluid, with both sides continuing to engage in military operations.
