Chinese Coach Urges Players to Remain Calm Ahead of Taiwan Match

China to Face Taiwan in Highly Anticipated Women’s Asian Cup Quarterfinal

Perth, Australia - China will face off against Taiwan in a highly charged quarterfinal match at the Women’s Asian Cup on Saturday. The reigning champions are seeking to extend their record of 10 continental titles but are aware that Taiwan has shown significant improvement throughout the tournament.

China coach Ante Milicic emphasized the importance of remaining calm and confident in the face of a tough opponent. “We will execute our game plan and perform to the level we know we can,” he stated. “If we follow a clear process, remain calm and confident, and take it one game at a time, we can be successful.”

Taiwan coach Prasobchoke Chokemor expressed confidence in his team’s ability to compete against top-level players. “We did well against Japan, holding them to a 0-0 draw in the first half,” he said. “It will be a different game tactically, but we are confident we can compete if we stay focused on ourselves and fight as a team.”

The match is not only significant for the Women’s Asian Cup semifinals but also for 2027 World Cup qualification, with the top six finishers booking their tickets to the tournament. The teams have received strong support from fans throughout the competition, although controversy has surrounded Taiwan’s participation under the name “Chinese Taipei.”
