Facebook Marketplace has rolled out a new feature that uses artificial intelligence to automate responses to common inquiries from buyers, aiming to streamline the listing process and reduce frustration among sellers. Users can opt-in to receive auto-replies to questions about item availability through Meta AI’s assistant technology. The AI response will provide a standard reply, such as “Yes, it’s still available. Do you have any questions?” to minimize back-and-forth with potential buyers. In addition, the platform is introducing another AI-powered tool that can analyze photos and descriptions of listed items to suggest relevant categories and tags. This feature is intended to help sellers optimize their listings for better visibility in search results.
