Big 12 Basketball Tournament Ditches Slippery LED Courts for Hardwood
The Big 12 has opted to replace its innovative glass-covered LED floors with traditional hardwood finish at Kansas City’s T-Mobile Center, effective immediately, for the remainder of the tournament. While the LED courts offer enhanced fan engagement and advertising opportunities, their unique features – including interactive animations that respond to player movements – have proven less practical during high-intensity basketball games. The switch back to traditional flooring is aimed at providing a more conventional playing experience for athletes competing in the Big 12 tournament.
