Apple Ages Verification in Texas App Store Now
As of Thursday, June 4th, Apple is introducing age verification measures for its App Store in Texas, following a federal appeals court’s decision allowing the state’s App Store Accountability Act to take effect while a lawsuit against it continues. To comply with the new regulations, users creating a new Apple account will be required to provide proof of age by either submitting a government-issued ID or using their credit card information – if available on file. Under 18-year-olds must join a Family Sharing group, where an authorized parent or guardian will need to provide verification before setting up the account.
