AI Shopping Agent Blocked from Amazon
A US federal judge has issued an order blocking Perplexity’s web browser-based AI agents from placing orders on a user’s behalf due to alleged unauthorized access by the AI startup to Amazon accounts. Amazon filed a lawsuit against Perplexity in November, alleging that the company’s Comet browser was accessing and making purchases without permission. The retail giant accused Perplexity of intruding into its marketplace and user accounts with an agentic shopping feature.
