Adobe to discontinue popular animation software in March 2027
Adobe is discontinuing its Adobe Animate software effective March 1st, 2027, as new platforms have emerged that better serve user needs. Users will have until then to access and download their files from the application, which will no longer be available after the deadline. Enterprise customers have an additional year to transition their applications. Adobe Animate was first introduced by FutureWave Software in 1996 as a vector graphics application. The software has undergone several revisions before being rebranded and updated over the years. Despite its long history, Adobe has deemed it unnecessary for users, opting instead to focus on newer technologies that cater to evolving user requirements.
