US Senator Lindsey Graham Makes Comments on Iran War Effort
Senator Lindsey Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, has made comments suggesting that the US war effort against Iran is aimed at gaining control over its oil supplies. During an interview with Fox News on Sunday, Graham stated that taking down the Iranian regime would result in a new Middle East and significant economic benefits for the US.
Graham, who has been a vocal supporter of military intervention abroad, claimed that Venezuela’s left-wing leader Nicolas Maduro and Iran were targeted due to their substantial oil reserves. He stated that having control over 31% of the world’s known oil reserves would be a “good investment” for the US.
In response, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei accused the US of seeking to take control of Iran’s oil resources. Graham also predicted that the US-Israeli attacks on Tehran would escalate in the coming two weeks, with the US aiming to “blow the hell out of these people” and assert its dominance in the region.
Graham has been a long-time supporter of Israel and has expressed support for military action against Iran. He has made multiple trips to Israel to meet with intelligence officials, including Mossad, and has claimed that they have provided him with information not available to the US government.
The US war effort against Iran has resulted in significant economic disruption, including oil prices topping $100 and retaliatory strikes from Iran on Gulf nations hosting US military assets. The conflict has also drawn criticism from previous administrations, which had avoided military action in favor of diplomatic solutions.
Graham’s comments have been met with skepticism by some, who argue that the war effort is driven by a desire to gain control over Iran’s oil resources rather than a genuine concern for regional stability.
