US President Donald Trump has stated that discussions with Iran are ongoing, despite the country’s denials of any negotiations. The US military has also postponed planned strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure for five days.
According to reports, the United States and Israel have launched a military campaign against Iran, which is now in its 25th day. On Tuesday, Trump announced that Washington was engaging in talks with Tehran, suggesting a potential broader agreement could be reached.
However, Iranian officials have rejected these claims, stating that the US is attempting to buy time as it deploys more forces to the region.
In addition to the ongoing military campaign, there have been reports of increased tensions between Iran and Israel. On Tuesday, Israel bombed a petrol station in southern Lebanon.
Iran has also fired missile barrages at Israel, while Gulf countries have reported repeated drone and missile interceptions. Fighting has intensified in Lebanon and Iraq.
The US military’s decision to postpone planned strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure is the latest development in the ongoing conflict.
