UK Court Backs Terror Ban on Palestine Action Group

UK Court Upholds Government’s Decision to Proscribe Palestine Action

A UK Court of Appeal ruling has confirmed that the British government was correct in designating Palestine Action as a “terrorist” organization. The group, founded six years ago, advocates for ending global participation in Israel’s alleged genocidal and apartheid regime.

The court’s decision states that promoting unlawful violence amounts to terrorism, despite controversy surrounding the proscription. A five-member panel, including two senior judges, made this ruling on Monday.

Palestine Action has been involved in various protests and disruptions targeting companies linked to Israeli weapons manufacturers, such as Elbit Systems, Leonardo, Thales, and Teledyne. The group’s actions have resulted in significant criminal damage, estimated to be worth millions of pounds.

In 2025, the group carried out an attack on a Royal Air Force base in Oxfordshire, spraying two military aircraft with red paint. This incident led to a vote by members of parliament in favor of proscribing the group as a terrorist organization.

The Metropolitan Police welcomed the court’s decision and stated that they would continue to arrest individuals protesting in support of Palestine Action. The group’s co-founder, Huda Ammori, has announced plans to challenge the ruling in the UK Supreme Court and potentially take the case to the European Court of Human Rights.

As a result of the proscription, approximately 3,000 people have been arrested since the group’s designation as a terrorist organization last year.
