UFC Fight Night Results: Israel Adesanya Loses to Joe Pyfer
In a highly anticipated bout at UFC Fight Night in Seattle, former Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight champion Israel Adesanya suffered his fourth consecutive loss after being stopped by Joe Pyfer in the second round. The technical knockout (TKO) finish occurred at 4:18 of the second round.
Prior to the stoppage, both fighters engaged in a fierce stand-up battle, exchanging their best punches until Pyfer’s takedown signaled the beginning of the end. Following the TKO finish, Pyfer secured top control and expressed his mentality, stating he aims to “search and destroy” his opponents.
Adesanya, fighting out of New Zealand, has not won a bout since regaining middleweight gold in April 2023 at UFC 287. Despite this, he confirmed that he has no plans to retire, vowing to continue competing.
In the flyweight division, former champion Alexa Grasso made short work of Maycee Barber with a TKO stoppage at 2:42 of the opening round. Grasso used a left hook to down Barber before jumping on top of her immediately as the referee stepped in.
Other notable finishes included Michael Chiesa’s submission victory over Niko Price, Lerryan Douglas’ devastating TKO against Julian Erosa, and Yousri Belgaroui’s third-round TKO stoppage of Mansur Abdul-Malik. Terrance McKinney also made a strong debut with a quick knockout of Kyle Nelson in the opening round.
The results marked an eventful night for the UFC, with several fighters securing victories and others suffering setbacks.
