Turkish Foreign Minister to Meet with Indonesian President on $10 Billion Trade Deal

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta on Wednesday. The meeting was described as “extremely productive” by Fidan.
During their discussion, the two leaders touched upon various sectors, including defence, energy, transportation, and the halal food industry. They also evaluated projects aimed at reaching a bilateral trade volume target of $10 billion, which was agreed upon in April last year.
Fidan stated that the meeting followed up on issues discussed during his visit to Singapore earlier. Prabowo expressed gratitude for Turkey’s support in the repatriation of nine Indonesian citizens who were abducted by Israel as part of the Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0 humanitarian mission bound for Gaza.
The two leaders also exchanged views on developments in the Middle East, focusing on Iran and Palestine. According to a statement from Indonesia’s presidency, both countries emphasized the importance of maintaining regional stability through dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful dispute resolution.
The meeting aimed to strengthen bilateral ties between Turkey and Indonesia, with the goal of achieving a trade volume target of $10 billion.
