Real Madrid Fines Players for Involvement in Dressing-Room Brawl

Real Madrid Announces Fines for Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde

Real Madrid has imposed fines of 500,000 euros ($588,000) each on players Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde following a training ground altercation. The club stated that the fine “concludes the internal procedures” against the two players.

Valverde will miss Sunday’s Clasico match against Barcelona due to a head injury sustained during the incident, with the club estimating he will be out for up to two weeks. Tchouameni is expected to participate in the match at Camp Nou this weekend.

In a statement, Real Madrid reported that both players expressed remorse for their actions and apologized to each other during an investigation. They also extended apologies to the club, teammates, coaching staff, and fans.

According to reports, the altercation occurred on Wednesday during training, with tensions escalating over the course of two days. Valverde claimed he accidentally hit a table during the argument, causing a small cut on his forehead that required hospital treatment. He denied hitting Tchouameni or being hit by him.

The incident has highlighted tensions within Real Madrid, which is currently struggling to secure major trophies this season. The club trails Barcelona by 11 points in La Liga, with Sunday’s match against their arch-rivals potentially determining the league title.
