Pakistans Naseem Shah faces backlash over comments on politicians PSL appearance

Pakistan Cricket Board Issues Notice to Naseem Shah Over Comments on Politician’s Presence at PSL Game

The Pakistan Cricket Board has issued a notice to fast bowler Naseem Shah for making comments on the presence of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz at the start of the opening game of the Pakistan Super League. The game, which was played behind closed doors at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, featured defending champion Lahore Qalandars and first-timers Hyderabad Kingsmen.

According to reports, Shah had commented on a tweet by the PCB, stating that Nawaz was being treated like royalty at Lord’s. However, Shah later claimed that his account had been hacked. The PCB has issued a show-cause notice to Shah for violating the terms of his central contract and media policy regulations.

The notice states that Shah is required to provide a response within a specified time frame. Upon receipt and review of his response, the PCB will decide on any further action in line with the regulations. This incident marks the second time this year that a player has faced disciplinary action for violating the PCB’s rules.

Last year, all-rounder Aamer Jamal was fined $4,000 for displaying a slogan in favor of Imran Khan, Pakistan’s imprisoned former prime minister. Shah is scheduled to play for Rawalpindi Pindiz against Peshawar Zalmi on Saturday.
