Israeli Forces Kill Palestinians in Gaza and Lebanon
At least nine Palestinians have been killed in recent attacks across the Gaza Strip, according to medical sources. The incidents occurred on Sunday, contradicting a US-brokered ceasefire agreement that went into effect in October.
In southern Khan Younis, five Palestinians were reportedly killed by Israeli forces beyond the designated “yellow line” where troops are stationed. Four more Palestinians died when Israeli forces attacked a tent for displaced people in northern al-Faluja.
The Israeli military stated that it struck a building in an unspecified part of northern Gaza shortly after armed fighters entered the structure, killing at least two of them. The military also claimed to have killed another person who allegedly crossed the yellow line and posed a threat to its forces.
In Lebanon, the Israeli military launched attacks on southern areas, targeting what it described as warehouses used by the Hezbollah armed group for storing weapons and launchers.
The Israeli military has continued to launch near-daily attacks in Gaza despite agreeing to halt fighting. Since the ceasefire came into effect, Israel has reportedly violated it over 1,500 times, resulting in at least 591 deaths and 1,590 injuries.
In addition to the violence, Israel has restricted the entry of food, medicine, medical supplies, shelter materials, and prefabricated houses into Gaza, where approximately 2 million Palestinians live. The territory’s infrastructure was severely damaged during a conflict that began on October 8, 2023, with an estimated cost of over $70 billion to rebuild.
The United Nations has reported at least 108 civilian casualties from Israeli attacks since the ceasefire, including women and children.
