Mohamed Salah, a 33-year-old Egyptian forward, has announced his departure from Liverpool FC at the end of the current season. The move will be on a free transfer, despite having 12 months remaining on his contract.

Salah made the announcement in a video message on social media, stating that it is “the first part” of his farewell. He had previously expressed dissatisfaction with his relationship with manager Arne Slot, claiming that he was being scapegoated for the team’s poor start to the season.

Salah has been linked to several clubs, including Saudi Pro League teams Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal, as well as Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States. His agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, stated that it is unclear where Salah will play next season.

Liverpool FC has released a statement expressing respect for Salah’s decision to announce his departure to his supporters. The club has also celebrated Salah’s achievements and legacy on social media, with current players and former teammates paying tribute to him.

Salah will depart Liverpool as one of the most decorated players in Premier League history, having scored 255 goals in 435 appearances over his nine-year tenure with the club.
