Lewis Hamilton claims first F1 victory with Ferrari at Barcelona

Lewis Hamilton Wins First F1 Race with Ferrari at Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix

Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton secured his first victory for Italian manufacturer Ferrari at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix in Spain on Sunday. The 41-year-old Hamilton, who is competing in his 31st race with Ferrari this season, took top honors in a highly competitive event.

Hamilton’s win marked a significant milestone for the seven-time world champion, who had not stood atop the podium since his victory at the Belgian Grand Prix in July 2024. The driver finished sixth in the standings last year and trailed teammate Kimi Antonelli, who was seeking his sixth consecutive victory with Mercedes.

According to Ferrari team officials, Hamilton executed a flawless three-stop strategy, utilizing tires that proved efficient in the scorching heat. The team also benefited from a free stop during a Virtual Safety Car period, which helped Hamilton gain an advantage over his competitors.

Hamilton’s teammate, George Russell, held onto the early lead but ultimately finished second behind his countryman. Max Verstappen and Lando Norris rounded out the top three positions. In post-race comments, Russell praised Ferrari’s resurgence, stating that they are emerging as a threat to other teams due to their extensive improvements.

The victory marked a triumphant return for Hamilton, who expressed gratitude to his team and fans for their unwavering support.
