A New York judge has temporarily halted an order requiring former President Donald Trump to unfreeze funding for the Gateway rail tunnel project. The halt was granted in response to a lawsuit filed by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which is responsible for overseeing the project.

The lawsuit claimed that Trump’s decision to freeze funding for the project was unlawful and would cause significant harm to the state’s transportation infrastructure. A judge has agreed to temporarily block the order while the case is being heard.

Separately, a court ruling has also been issued in connection with Trump’s efforts to rename buildings after himself. The ruling stated that Trump does not have the authority to unilaterally change the names of public buildings.

In another development, laborers who were laid off as a result of the funding freeze for the Gateway project are reportedly upset about the situation. They had been working on the project before it was halted due to lack of funding.

These cases are currently being heard in court and further developments will be reported as necessary.
