US President Confirms Harsh Words for Netanyahu Over Lebanon Attacks
In an interview with CNBC on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump acknowledged that he recently referred to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as “f****ing crazy” during a call earlier in the week. When asked about the incident, Netanyahu downplayed the idea that his relationship with Trump has shifted, stating that their bond remains strong.
Netanyahu emphasized that he and Trump have mutual respect for each other, despite occasional disagreements. He noted that they share common goals and are able to work through their differences as friends. The Israeli prime minister also expressed his desire for peace with Lebanon, citing the need to disarm Hezbollah and demilitarize the country.
Trump had previously stated that he was perturbed by Netanyahu’s actions in Lebanon, specifically regarding the escalation of violence in the region. However, despite this apparent disagreement, Trump continued to praise Netanyahu, saying he “works well” with him and that he “likes” the Israeli leader.
Netanyahu reiterated his commitment to disarming Hezbollah and achieving a peaceful resolution with Lebanon. He acknowledged that this goal is shared by both himself and President Trump. The comments come as tensions between Israel and Iran remain high, with Tehran suggesting it may respond militarily to Israel’s actions in Lebanon.
