Palestinian Casualties Mount Amid Ongoing Israeli Attacks
At least 425 Palestinians have been killed and 1,206 others wounded in Israeli attacks since October 11, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza. The ministry reported that the majority of these casualties occurred during an ongoing military assault on the territory.
On Thursday, a family’s tent in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis was bombed by the Israeli military, resulting in the deaths of three Palestinians and injuring three others. One of the injured individuals suffered critical injuries.
Additionally, an 11-year-old Palestinian girl named Hamsa Housou died in northern Gaza’s Jabalia area after being struck by Israeli fire. Her uncle reported that she had been found lying on the floor with blood coming from her nose and mouth.
The attacks have occurred despite a United States-brokered ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 10. However, Israel has continued to bomb the coastal enclave, prompting concerns about the safety of Palestinians living in Gaza.
Hundreds of thousands of displaced families are currently residing in makeshift tent camps across Gaza after their homes were destroyed during the ongoing conflict. The Israeli government has refused to allow a free flow of shelter supplies into the Gaza Strip, despite warnings from the United Nations and humanitarian groups.
Doctors Without Borders reported that Palestinians in Gaza are suffering from various health issues, including respiratory infections, wound complications, and skin diseases. The group also stated that babies are experiencing severe cold due to harsh living conditions.
Israel has recently moved to block international aid groups, including Doctors Without Borders, from operating in the Strip. The Israeli authorities have revoked the operating licenses of 37 aid organizations for failing to comply with new regulations.
