Royal Lodge, Windsor Great Park, Sees Financial Meetings Involving Jeffrey Epstein
A 75-year lease on Royal Lodge, a 17th-century property in Windsor Great Park, was secured by Prince Andrew in 2003. The residence has been used for various events and gatherings, including a visit from sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in 2006. Emails obtained by the US Department of Justice suggest that financial meetings were held at Royal Lodge during Prince Andrew’s tenure as UK trade envoy.
The emails, which span from 2009 to 2011, indicate that Prince Andrew convened meetings involving Epstein on multiple occasions. One email chain shows a meeting scheduled for August 30, 2010, with an invitation extended to Epstein to attend. The emails also reveal that Epstein advised on financial strategy and warned about potential consequences if certain actions were not taken.
The context for these meetings appears to be Prince Andrew’s wife, Sarah Ferguson, who was facing financial difficulties at the time. Her company, Hartmoor, was reportedly going bankrupt, with estimated debts ranging from £2 million to £5 million. Emails show that Epstein was looped into discussions about a proposed settlement and was asked to review documents related to the situation.
The emails do not specify whether Epstein attended these meetings in person or by phone. They offer insight into how Royal Lodge functioned as a venue for coordinated financial discussions, with Epstein being consulted on matters related to Prince Andrew’s diplomatic role.
