Israeli Forces Kill Palestinians in Gaza, Lebanon
At least eight Palestinians have been killed in recent attacks across the Gaza Strip, according to medical sources. The incidents occurred on Sunday, despite a US-brokered ceasefire agreement that was put in place in October.
Four Palestinians were reportedly killed in southern Khan Younis, with one source at Nasser Hospital confirming the deaths. Another four Palestinians were killed in northern al-Faluja, where Israeli forces attacked a tent for displaced people, according to a source at al-Shifa Hospital.
The Israeli military has issued a statement claiming that it struck a building in an unspecified part of northern Gaza, killing two armed fighters. It also reported killing one person who allegedly crossed the “Yellow Line” and posed a threat to its forces.
In Lebanon, the Israeli military launched attacks on southern parts of the country, targeting warehouses used by the Hezbollah armed group for storing weapons and launchers. The Israeli military stated that it had struck these targets in accordance with the ceasefire agreement.
The incidents have raised concerns about the Israeli military’s compliance with the ceasefire agreement. According to authorities, Israel has violated this agreement more than 1,500 times since its implementation on October 10. At least 591 people have been killed and 1,590 wounded as a result of these violations.
In addition to the violence in Gaza and Lebanon, Israel continues to restrict the entry of essential goods into Gaza, where approximately 2 million Palestinians live in dire conditions. The United Nations has estimated that rebuilding Gaza could cost over $70 billion.
