Chicago firefighter charged with murder and arson in fatal fire incident

A man has been charged with murder and arson in connection with the death of Chicago Firefighter Michael Altman. According to police, Sheaves Slate was taken into custody.

Altman died on December 10th while fighting a fire in Rogers Park. An investigation by the Chicago Police Department found evidence linking Slate to the incident.

Slate is also being charged with arson in relation to the fire that killed Altman.

Altman’s family has released a statement remembering him as a loving husband and friend known for having “the biggest heart”.

The police department has confirmed that an arrest was made in connection with Altman’s death.
